Nursery

Finished the nursery! I am sure I will add little things here and there as time passes but here is what we have right now. Brian and I had so much fun painting the walls and putting everything together. All we really need is a sweet little girl to make it complete.

Birthday Yay!

Buh and Mom took us out for a night at McMenamins! I love spending time with family. We are so blessed to have them living so close. I know our little girl will adore them.

Maternity Pictures

A friend of mine is looking into pursuing maternity photography and asked Brian and I if she could take some pictures of us. Of course we said yes. Though the weather wasn't that great yesterday we had a lot of fun with Hannah in the park and the pictures turned out great! Here are a few of them...

Here are some pictures of our little girls room, not quite finished but we're getting there. The first picture is of Brian and I listening to Brent Alan and His Funky Friends play at an event in downtown Bend last week.








I am still on bed rest which stinks but my OB said last week that at my next appointment he might award me a couple more outings a week :). Lets hope he decides to take me all the way off bed rest, being stuck inside during summer is horrible. I have to be more and more creative with my time with each day that comes, and I'm running out of things to do. Hope everyone's summer is going well and Happy 4th Of July!

Update

We had a follow-up appointment with our OBGYN this morning. Took some tests and listened to her heartbeat again. She seems to be doing just fine but I am already 1cm dilated. The nurse just called back. Because of the test results our doctor wants us to go in for an ultrasound later today, up my meds and stay on bed rest until further notice. If I do show anymore signs of labor or the contractions start again they will put me on steroids to help her lungs develop faster.

Though we want to see her, she still has so much more growing to do. Thoughts and prayers would be appreciated.

Hospital Visit #1

Brian and I spent the night in the hospital last night monitoring the baby and contractions. Woke up at 1 with contractions that were between 2 and 3 minutes apart for about an hour. Brian gave our OB a call and then headed to the hospital. We got the works there with exams, monitors, and shots(which made me feel like I drank 100 cups of coffee).

The monitor was showing the contractions so they decided to give me two shots to slow down the contractions, which seems to work quickly. Our little girl is doing just fine, heart rate is good and she has plenty of amniotic fluid to float and kick around in. They did fine that my cervix is thinner than it should be which puts me at risk for preterm labor so they decided to keep me over night and monitor the two of us a little longer until my OB could come in and take a peek at what was going on. The nurse started me on Procardia at 4:30am and monitored my contractions throughout the morning. The meds worked and we were sent home on strict bed rest and a bottle of Procardia in-hand. I have a follow up appointment on Monday with further testing, and we'll go from there.

Looks like it's gong to be a slow weekend full of movies and plenty of fluids :) Mom is coming over tonight to make lasagna, yay!

Rearranging

Brian and I have been sorting through our den and getting it ready to transform into a nursery. It's funny how someone so small can have more than enough things to occupy one room(and spill on into the rest of the house).

We now have a doula! Cara Boles has more than graciously offered her talents and expertise as a doula to us before and during labor. I am so excited to have someone coaching us that we already know and love. Things are really starting to come together, I can't believe we are so close to meeting her. Though I do still realize I still have to make it through the hot summer months(which I will be spending by a body of water, with a cold beverage in-hand).

And..... we've decided on a name.

Taste Of Summer

Central Oregon has been so beautiful. Brian and I can not wait to take our little girl on walks through Drake Park in the sun. Today we sat and watched people singing and playing their guitars, feeding the geese and a random group of boys fully suited up in medieval gear swinging their makeshift swords at each other in the park. We love downtown Bend and everything it has to offer.

Feels like it's taken forever but I've finally finished our registries at target.com and babiesrus.com. I wish the baby showers we already here :) Michelle (Brian's sister), Sarah(my close friend) and my mom will be hosting some sweet summer showers in June. Sarah came over yesterday and helped me re-sort through baby clothes. Such a big help! Now we finally know what we need and the bigger category, what we don't need(thanks Nay and Kate!).

Latest Doctor's Visit

Had a visit with our OBGYN today. Based on my due date I am supposed to be around 23 weeks. Dr. Murphy measured my belly today and said I am looking more like 25 weeks along. Next month is our last monthly visit then we switch to visits every two weeks. Can time really be going by this fast?

Brian and I moved into our new place in Bend last week, our new mailing address is, 317 12th st Bend OR 97759. We love it. It's right next to downtown and all the parks. We've been on at least one long walk every day since we've moved in. Can't wait for summer!

I finished my registries last night and probably will be continuously updating them. We are registered at target.com and babiesrus.com. Uncle Ron did already call getting the mobile :)

Night Owl

Hello All!

Brian and I have been great. Work has made my feet a little on the sore side but all the sweet comments from customers wanting to know about the baby has made up for it. Our little girl seems to be a night owl and only squirms around and kicks me when it's time to settle down.

We hope she's just as silly as we are :)

G&G Visit

Grandma and Grandpa came up to visit! Had a wonderful dinner with Mom, Buh, Uncle Ron, Heather, Randy and Brian on Wednesday night. It was exactly what I needed, a night surrounded by laughter, stories, good food and amazing family.

Clothes, Clothes & More Clothes!

Today Buh and Mom brought over the first installment of baby girl's clothes from Nay! Oh my goodness. And to think there are more coming! I can not begin to explain how grateful I am while looking through all of these, thankful for Grandma and Nay for sorting through them and Buh for bringing them all the way up here. What a wonderful family I have.


Update on baby: At our last doctor's appointment our nurse went to listen to her heartbeat and for the first couple of seconds all you could hear was punching and kicking :). It isn't surprising, I can't think of a moment during the day when she isn't moving around.

Grandma and Grandpa are coming up for a visit soon, can't wait to see them!

It's a.......

GIRL!!!

We had our ultrasound today! Our baby girl had her legs crossed like a little lady the whole time. Knew it was a girl! It feels like we can finally get excited now, looking at girls clothes and not having to wonder. She weighs in at a little under a pound, is around 6 inches long and has inch long feet. The ultrasound tech. said she had a nice round head :). Everything looks good, both Mommy and baby are doing great!

Hello everyone!

I am beyond excited to be starting this blog and can't wait for everyone to share with us. Brian and I are due August 14 which was Heather and I's original due date. We find out the sex of the baby next Thursday the 18th. The guesses are both half and half but more are leaning towards a girl. I will be posting pictures and more news soon.
